EOS stands for Employability Operating System. It is a way for staff members track the common behavior expectations we have already set through our BE SAFE, BE RESPONSIBLE, AND BE RESPECTFUL lessons. It helps us and you to see if students are following schoolwide behavior expectations so that we can celebrate and/or reteach those behaviors.
"Employability" refers to students demonstrating understanding and skills connected to school-wide behavior expectations. Think of being a student as a job. Just like in the real world, certain skills and qualities help us reach success in any given job. If you demonstrate those qualities and meet the behavior expectations, you do your job well and may even receive certain benefits or perks as a result. However, if you don’t meet the behavior expectations, you didn’t do your job well. At Lansdowne, our employability skills are to be: SAFE, RESPONSIBLE, and RESPECTFUL.
We expect every student to make mistakes, as that is how we all learn and grow. We do not expect our students to be perfect at all times. We encourage parents to keep this in mind as they begin to look over eOS data. Here is some helpful information:
-
Most students will likely be at 90-95% in their overall employability.
-
Since there are 3 employability skills in 3 blocks of our day, students can earn up to 9 points a day.
Students who maintain a 90% or above employability average will receive recognitions. They can earn E-bucks from their teacher to spend in their classroom and they can also earn recognition at our monthly PBIS Celebration.
